Shakespeare in Stokey

Planning for the Stoke Newington Shakespeare Festival is well under way, and it's already looking exciting. We had a great turn out at our meet and greet - thanks to everyone who turned up, you'll be hearing from us soon if you haven't already. The event really showed us that there is no limit; it was encouraging to meet so many enthusiastic and talented practitioners.

We're coming up with events, workshops, and rehearsed readings to complement the three Shakespeare productions that are going to take place. Measure for Measure at the Lion is going to open the festival in early June, and it's going to end with a spectacular Midsummer Night's Dream in Abney Park Cemetery in July. There's also going to be a third production, which is yet to be decided.

The first round of auditions are going to be for Measure for Measure, which will be held during the royal wedding weekend. If you're interested in auditioning for this or for anything else, or in any other aspect of the festival, get in touch by emailing RoarTheatre@hotmail.com
